Using the Byos USB µGateway's in-Device VPN Client

This article explains how to setup and use the µGateway’s in-device VPN client, serving as an alternative to a VPN client running on the host endpoint. The currently supported VPN protocol is OpenVPN.

Instructions

  1. Open up the Byos µGateway Home Dashboard

  2. In the left navigation bar, click “VPN”

  3. In the top right corner, click the green button to upload a VPN Config File, select the desired file, and click “Choose for Upload”.

  4. After your VPN file has been uploaded, under Action, click “Connect”.

  5. Input VPN credentials (username and password), and click connect. The user has the option to i) save the configuration for future user and ii) to use the VPN’s remote DNS servers.

  7. When navigating back to the Home Dashboard, you will also see the VPN connection details below the normal network details (red box).

  8. By clicking “Statistics” under ADMINISTRATION in the left navigation bar, the VPN connection statistics will be shown (red box).
